The value of social bookmarking as we know it is ever changing the way we use technology. Coming from someone who really don't know a whole lot about it and still trying to develop some skill for it is just remarkable. I already started to identify how my favorite bar actually works....please don't laugh. This has been a great experience in the whole realm of things continuing to keep up with the changes of the internet is qiute an adventure. As I look at ways to help my fellow colleagues I going to first ask them if they know anything about bookmarking if they do then they probably can help me if not then we should get a tutorial. Imagine all teachers getting online using these tools to improve thier lives professionally. I can see one day every teacher joining and/or forming groups using Diigo or Delicious or some other site and be totally commited to the digital age so schools can succeed all at once. Once schools are connected then students will be connected and this will change the face of education forever.
You are doing such a wonderful job for someone who feels not so tech savvy! I agree that whole staffs should have and share info for professional development because it would greatly benefit students. I also think that across the county group sharing would benefit teachers because we are teaching the same curriculum and held to teh same assessments!
ReplyDeleteI love your honesty! This is where every techie started at some point, whether they want to admit it or not.You got the point of social bookmarking a lot faster than I did. I just wanted somewhere to save all of my favorites in one place.
ReplyDeleteImagine if students could learn about their teacher during the summer. They could connect and share resources by having usernames posted just like in this blog post.
